Stillness: Study 3
There is an openness to stillness that allows room for creativity. I find that the more I cultivate inner peace, and the more comfortable I get with openness and spaciousness in my life, the more creative I am about everything I do. There is freedom in emptiness. And I think creativity requires that sort of freedom. Connecting with Spirit in silence allows me paradoxically, even in my emptiness, to experience fullness - purging any fear as I move into the act of creating which is really an act of love. I join in with nature to sing, to dance, to create the life I love.
I still my mind; creativity grows.
I settle and listen to my breath as it moves in and out. On my inhale, I am still, and I allow a force of creativity to well within me. I exhale, and move into the act of creating. What a beautiful life opportunity we all have been granted: the opportunity to be creative even out of emptiness.
“What makes us afraid is our great freedom in the face of the emptiness that has still to be filled.”
Making a Connection Through Art Journaling
I am posting this short video showing you how I cultivate stillness through art and nature. Enjoy!
“Whenever there is stillness there is the still small voice, God’s speaking from the whirlwind, nature’s old song, and dance.”
