Stillness: Study 9
There is nothing complicated about stillness. The action of inaction is characterized by simplicity. It just involves letting go and being. The ego though, not comfortable will full release, sometimes puts up a struggle; and so, it’s helpful to scan the body for pockets of tension and then to mindfully let go in all areas.
I inhale and exhale, and I am still.
I breathe in and out. My eyes become heavy, and I release the tension in my jaw, my shoulders, my neck. I breathe in and out. I let it go - like a child letting go of a balloon. My back releases, and my arms. I release all of the tension from the palms of my hands and my fingers. My entire upper body is still and at rest. My hips and legs are still. My feet are heavy and still. I breathe in and relax. I am safe and comfortable, at home in this stillness within.
